Physicist, data scientist, backend developer

Hi, I'm Edoardo

I build software that starts from the data: from physics and artificial intelligence to the websites and APIs that make them useful.

What I do

I trained as a physicist and today I work at ETT as a backend developer. I build APIs, process data and images, read archive documents with OCR and develop artificial intelligence solutions for museums, institutions and archives. I like to understand a problem thoroughly before writing any code. The code I write is meant to be open, secure and tailored: I explain how below.

How I can help

  • Backend development and documents

Reliable APIs and services with Python and Django; from paper archives to searchable data with OCR, human review and page citations.

  • Data and artificial intelligence

Analysis, models and agents that turn data into decisions.

  • Custom analytics

Privacy-friendly analytics, inside the site or as a standalone service: visits, journeys, outcomes, Google searches. I have also migrated data from Matomo to Google Analytics 4.

  • Desktop tools

Installable applications built with Tauri and Electron, for work that does not fit in a web page: image processing, metadata editors.

  • Websites with my CMS

A website you can edit yourself, with a little help from artificial intelligence.

How I build software

Four commitments of method, valid for every job.

  • No lock-in

I build on widespread, proven open-source technologies. Your content and data stay yours: you can export them and take them away whenever you like, without being tied to me.

  • Secure code

Security from the start, not at the end: role-based access, personal data kept to a minimum, dependency updates, automated tests and a trial on a separate environment before every release.

  • Tailored to you

I start from what your work really needs: no useless features, decisions explained in writing and a site that reflects the way you work.

  • Regular security audits

I commit to running periodic security audits (dependencies, configuration, access, backups) and handing the results to the client. It is the method I propose for every project, not a certification I claim today.

Featured projects

  • base-cms

The block-based CMS with an AI assistant that I use for my clients' websites.

  • Knowledge base for a port authority

Regulations, documents and environmental news in one place, with answers that cite their sources.

  • Reading archive registers

A local vision model reads the pages; a person reviews every piece of data.

  • Digital catalogue of cultural heritage

From the legacy system to a new backend, with ICCD records and CSV import.
